Purchased new Longines watches. The calendar stop working within a month. Sent back for repair. Called in 3 weeks to check on the progress. Was told that it has not been yet sent for a repair and that it will take 8-10 weeks for a repair starting today. The customer service rep. was not able to explain what was the reason for keeping my watch for 3 weeks without doing anything.

From the first month of ownership, the longines watch needed a new battery and has had 6 battery replacements in 5 years. Longines offered to diagnose the problem, then said there was no issue with the watch and then charged me $80. It’s been 1 year since then and the watch has stopped again. Longines refuse to acknowledge the problem.

Longines Watch -Hands fall off!

I purchased a Longines Spirit Watch in Australia in 2008. After about 6 years use, and one quite expensive service, the second hand fell off! The cost of the watch was about $A 2000.00 - and the quote for repair(from a Longines agent in New Zealand) was $NZ1590, more than three- quarters of the original price. When I complained about this to Longines Head Office in Saint-Imier in Switzerland I received no reply or acknowledgement. I do not intend to undertake this repair,which seems to me to be throwing good money after bad, - but I would strongly advise anyone contemplating buying a Longines watch to think again.
